Ipamorelin | 6mg
Ipamorelin is a synthetic pentapeptide growth hormone secretagogue created through structural refinement of the earlier peptide GHRP-1. It is recognised as the first growth hormone–releasing peptide (GHRP) receptor agonist designed with high selectivity for the growth hormone secretagogue receptor. In biochemical and cellular research environments, ipamorelin functions as an agonist at the ghrelin/growth hormone secretagogue receptor (GHSR-1a), which is expressed on pituitary somatotrophs. Compared with earlier GHRPs such as GHRP-2 and GHRP-6, ipamorelin displays a distinct receptor-selectivity profile, and it is used as a reference agonist for isolating GHSR-1a binding and signalling from other receptor systems in laboratory work. Supplied pre-mixed as a solution in a sealed vial, 99%+ HPLC-verified, with a batch Certificate of Analysis. Research use only — not for human or veterinary use.

Ipamorelin: chemistry, selectivity and format
Ipamorelin is a synthetic pentapeptide — five residues, Aib-His-D-2-Nal-D-Phe-Lys-NH₂ — from the growth hormone secretagogue family, derived through structural refinement of the earlier peptide GHRP-1. Among that family it is the compound most often reached for when a research design needs selectivity, because the published preclinical work reports growth-hormone stimulation at concentrations that did not trigger ACTH or cortisol secretion. Ours is supplied pre-mixed as a solution in a sealed vial, HPLC-verified with a batch Certificate of Analysis, synthesised in our UK facility.
Research use only. Ipamorelin is supplied strictly for in-vitro laboratory research. This page describes chemistry, format, quality and handling. It does not describe dosing, administration or use in humans or animals, and makes no therapeutic claims.

What Ipamorelin is, chemically
Five residues is short, but almost none of them are ordinary. Reading the sequence from the N-terminus: Aib is α-aminoisobutyric acid, a non-natural residue with two methyl groups on the α-carbon, which rigidifies the backbone and removes a site that enzymes would otherwise cleave. D-2-Nal is D-2-naphthylalanine, a bulky aromatic residue in the mirror-image D configuration. D-Phe is likewise inverted. The C-terminus is an amide rather than a free acid, written NH₂.
Those four choices are all doing the same job. Natural L-amino acids in a short linear chain are a substrate for peptidases; D-residues, α,α-disubstituted residues and a capped C-terminus are not recognised efficiently by the same enzymes. The result is a pentapeptide far more robust in solution than its length suggests, which is precisely what makes it practical as a laboratory reference compound: it can be handled, diluted and assayed without the material changing underneath the experiment.
At 711.9 g/mol it is small enough to characterise unambiguously. A clean synthesis gives a single sharp peak on a reversed-phase column and an exact mass match, so there is little room for a certificate to be vague about what is in the vial.
Why "selective" is the word that matters
The growth hormone secretagogue family is large, and the members are not interchangeable. GHRP-6 and GHRP-2 are the better-known earlier compounds; in published work they are associated with activity beyond growth-hormone release, including effects on appetite signalling and on the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis.
Ipamorelin is studied as an agonist at the ghrelin/growth hormone secretagogue receptor (GHSR-1a) expressed on pituitary somatotrophs, and the preclinical literature reports a distinct selectivity profile: growth-hormone stimulation at concentrations that did not trigger ACTH or cortisol secretion in the models examined. Controlled animal studies have also reported increased longitudinal bone growth in those models. These are laboratory research observations in specific experimental systems, not established effects in humans, and they vary with model, concentration, exposure time and method.
For a research design, that profile is the point. A compound that moves one axis without measurably moving an adjacent one lets you attribute an observation to growth-hormone signalling rather than to a confounder, which is why ipamorelin appears so often as the tool compound in GHSR-1a work.
Ipamorelin and CJC-1295 are separate compounds
These two are so often named together that it is worth separating them. Ipamorelin is a GHRP — it acts at the ghrelin/GHS receptor. CJC-1295 is a GHRH analogue — a different receptor, a different mechanism, a 29-residue chain rather than five. They are studied together because the two pathways are complementary, not because they are versions of the same thing.
If your work calls for both in one standardised vial, that is a separate product: the Hulk Stack supplies CJC-1295 with DAC alongside Ipamorelin, pre-combined. Note the DAC distinction, because it trips people up — our standalone CJC-1295 is the No DAC form, while the stack uses the DAC form. The two differ in how long the molecule persists in solution, so they are not substitutes for one another.
Are there Ipamorelin tablets?
No, and the reason is chemistry rather than supply. Ipamorelin is a peptide, and peptides are poorly suited to oral presentation: the digestive tract is extremely good at breaking peptide bonds, so an orally presented peptide is largely degraded before it could reach circulation intact. The backbone modifications described above make ipamorelin resistant to some peptidases, but resistance to enzymatic cleavage in a buffer is a different matter from surviving the gut.
So anything marketed as an "ipamorelin tablet" is not the same material in a different wrapper. What we supply is the peptide itself, pre-mixed as a solution for laboratory work — and as with everything on this site, for in-vitro research use only rather than for administration by any route.
Pre-mixed solution vs lyophilised powder
Most suppliers ship this compound as a lyophilised powder, which puts a reconstitution step between delivery and the bench: source a diluent, dissolve the solid, and accept whatever variability that introduces into your starting concentration. Ours arrives already in solution, which removes that step and the bacteriostatic water it would otherwise require.
The trade-off is honest in both directions. A lyophilised solid is the more stable long-term format, which is why it is the convention for shipping and extended storage. A pre-mixed solution is more convenient and more reproducible at the point of use, because every vial of a batch starts at the same stated concentration rather than at whatever concentration the user's own reconstitution produced. For work where the starting concentration matters, that consistency is worth more than shelf life — provided the solution is stored correctly, which is the next section.
Quality: HPLC purity and the Certificate of Analysis
Every batch is assayed by high-performance liquid chromatography and the measured purity — ≥99% on this compound — is recorded on a Certificate of Analysis issued for that batch, which ships with the order it describes. The figure on the paperwork is the result recorded for your material, not a specification quoted once for the product line.
The vial label carries the same batch reference as the certificate, so the documentation in your records can be matched to the vial on the bench at any point. Recent certificates are published in the COA library if you want to review the analytical format before ordering. Our ipamorelin chemistry figures above are COA-confirmed rather than taken from a catalogue.
Storage and handling
Store sealed at 2–8 °C, protected from light, and do not freeze: freeze-thaw cycling is a stress on a peptide in solution and there is nothing to gain from it here. Keep the vial upright, return it to refrigeration promptly after each use, and record the date of first entry.
Peptide stability in solution is sensitive to temperature, pH and time, and bacteriostatic water contributes no buffering capacity, so the pH of any further dilution is set by the buffer you dilute into. Our guides on storing research peptides and bacteriostatic water and solution stability cover the practical side of both.
Buying Ipamorelin in the UK: what to check
Four questions separate research-grade supply from the rest, and they apply to us as much as to anyone else. Is the purity figure a measured HPLC result recorded per batch, or a specification stated once? Can you see sample documentation before you buy, or only after? Where is the material synthesised and dispatched from — and is that the same place? Is the format pre-mixed or lyophilised, and is the stated concentration therefore the one you will actually be working at?
Against those: our ipamorelin is HPLC-verified at ≥99% with the measured figure on each batch's certificate, sample COAs are published before purchase, synthesis and dispatch both happen at our own UK facility, and the vial arrives as a solution at a stated concentration. Orders confirmed before the daily cut-off leave the same working day on tracked next-working-day UK delivery, and institutional buyers can order through the trade desk. Supplied for in-vitro laboratory research use only.
Ipamorelin: research FAQs
- What is Ipamorelin?
- Ipamorelin is a synthetic pentapeptide belonging to the growth hormone secretagogue (GHRP) family, developed through structural refinement of the earlier peptide GHRP-1. It is recognised as one of the first growth hormone-releasing peptide receptor agonists designed with high selectivity for growth hormone stimulation. It is supplied strictly as a reference compound for in-vitro laboratory research use only.
- What is Ipamorelin studied for in research?
- In biochemical and cellular research, ipamorelin has been investigated as an agonist at the ghrelin/growth hormone secretagogue receptor (GHSR-1a) expressed on pituitary somatotrophs. Preclinical work has reported a distinct selectivity profile, with growth hormone stimulation observed at concentrations that did not trigger ACTH or cortisol secretion, making it a useful tool for isolating growth hormone-specific signalling without activation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis. Controlled animal studies have also reported increased longitudinal bone growth in the models examined. These are laboratory research observations only, not established effects in humans.
- Is Ipamorelin legal to buy in the UK?
- Ipamorelin is legal to buy and possess in the UK for laboratory research purposes. It is not a licensed medicine and cannot be sold for human or veterinary consumption. Every vial ships labelled for in-vitro research use only.
- What purity is your Ipamorelin, and is it lab-tested?
- Our Ipamorelin is verified at 99%+ purity by HPLC analysis. The figure printed on each batch's Certificate of Analysis is the actual value recorded in the laboratory for that batch, not a generic marketing claim. It is synthesised and dispatched from our own UK facility rather than imported or repackaged by an overseas re-shipper.
- Does Ipamorelin come with a Certificate of Analysis?
- Yes, a batch-specific Certificate of Analysis (COA) ships with every order. You can also view sample COAs in our COA library before buying, so you can review the testing documentation in advance. The COA records the HPLC purity and identity data for the specific batch supplied.
- How is Ipamorelin supplied, stored and handled for research?
- Ipamorelin is supplied as a pre-mixed solution in a sealed vial — no reconstitution step is required. Its batch Certificate of Analysis records the appearance as a clear liquid. Refrigerate at 2°C–8°C, keep the vial sealed and away from light, and do not freeze it: freeze-thaw cycling can damage peptides already in solution. Handling in the laboratory should follow standard aseptic research practice.
